چکیده

This paper studies the problem of optimally recovering the input signals to a linear time-invariant system when both input and measurement noises are present. We focus on batch-form solutions which are suitable for applications that deal with short-duration events. The system, the input and measurement noise covariances, the noise-corrupted output signals are assumed known, and we seek to recover the input signals that enter the system prior to being corrupted by input noise. The proposed solution works through a Kalman filter to characterize the input and measurement noise statistics. The input signal recovery is optimal in the sense that the Kalman filter residual is correctly recovered from the given information about the model and the output measurements. A weighted least-squares solution is found to be both simple and useful in acoustic signal recovery applications.

Utilizing Kernel Adaptive Filters for Speech Enhancement within the ALE Framework

Performance of the linear models, widely used within the framework of adaptive line enhancement (ALE), deteriorates dramatically in the presence of non-Gaussian noises. On the other hand, adaptive implementation of nonlinear models, e.g. the Volterra filters, suffers from the severe problems of large number of parameters and slow convergence. Nonetheless, kernel methods are emerging solutions t...

Design of robust carrier tracking systems in high dynamic and high noise conditions, with emphasis on neuro-fuzzy controller

The robust carrier tracking is defined as the ability of a receiver to determine the phase and frequency of the input carrier signal in unusual conditions such as signal loss, input signal fading, high receiver dynamic, or other destructive effects of propagation. An implementation of tight tracking can be understood in terms of adopting a very narrow loop bandwidth that contradict with the req...

Fault Detection and Classification in Double-Circuit Transmission Line in Presence of TCSC Using Hybrid Intelligent Method

In this paper, an effective method for fault detection and classification in a double-circuit transmission line compensated with TCSC is proposed. The mutual coupling of parallel transmission lines and presence of TCSC affect the frequency content of the input signal of a distance relay and hence fault detection and fault classification face some challenges. One of the most effective methods fo...

Minimax deconvolution design of multirate systems with channel noises: a unified approach

The conventional signal reconstruction problem of multirate systems with channel noises can be cast as a robust multirate deconvolution design problem. We investigate a unified minimax approach for the robust deconvolution design of multirate systems. We discuss two typical multirate systems: the multirate filter bank system and the transmultiplexer system. We consider transmission noises resul...

A Soft-Input Soft-Output Target Detection Algorithm for Passive Radar

Abstract: This paper proposes a novel scheme for multi-static passive radar processing, based on soft-input soft-output processing and Bayesian sparse estimation. In this scheme, each receiver estimates the probability of target presence based on its received signal and the prior information received from a central processor. The resulting posterior target probabilities are transmitted to the c...
